V for Vendetta
Institutions
V for Vendetta is a 2006 dystopian science fiction-thriller film directed by James McTeigue and produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers, who also wrote the screenplay. The film is an adaptation of the graphic novel V for Vendetta by Alan Moore and David Lloyd. Set in London in a near-future dystopian society, the film follows the mysterious V, a freedom fighter seeking to effect sociopolitical change while simultaneously pursuing his own violent personal vendetta. As of December 2006 V for Vendetta had grossed $70,511,035 in the United States and $62,000,000 elsewhere, for a worldwide gross of $132,511,035. The film led the United States box office on its opening day, taking in an estimated $8,742,504 and remained the number one film for the remainder of the weekend, taking in an estimated $25,642,340. Its closest rival, Failure to Launch, took in $15,604,892. The film was originally scheduled for release by Warner Bros. Friday, November 4, 2005 (a day before the 400th Guy Fawkes Night), but was delayed; it opened on March 17, 2006. Reviews were positive and the worldwide box office was over $132 million.
Audience
The audience of this movie was aimed at 15 + which means it is advisable to be over the age to watch this film as it contains strong violence and some foul language. The genre for this film is Sci-fi / thriller. This film got 8 stars out of a possible 10 stars. My personal opinion was that it is very well thought of as it expresses the history behind the film. On the IMBD website there was a comment from J.R. THOMPSON “Remember, remember, the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot. I see no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot." I've never read the graphic novel, but I don't think you need to read it to appreciate the movie. I saw the film last night at it's World Premiere at the Berlin International Film festival. Though it became a little weighty in the middle (one part seemed to drag a little) other than that it was a great experience. The story was so topical that I got seriously emotional during a lot of parts. The film led the United States box office on its opening day, taking in an estimated $8,742,504 and remained the number one film for the remainder of the weekend, taking in an estimated $25,642,340. Its closest rival, Failure to Launch, took in $15,604,892.The film debuted at number one in the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden and Taiwan. Despite taking place in the UK, the film did not reach number one at the UK box office on opening weekend; instead, The Pink Panther took the number one spot. V for Vendetta also opened in 56 IMAX theaters in North America, grossing $1.36 million during the opening three days.
Technology
Throughout the film there is an amazing source of technology used as there is different effect used throughout. These effects are used in different ways as they show many people being hurt, however the best source of technology used would be The different ways where the man tries to carry out the vendetta. There are many different ways but my favourite is at the end whem he carries out his wish and tries to burn down the parliament. I also like when a video is broadcasted across the city.
Thriller genre
The genre for this film is sci-fi/ thriller. I personally think this is a perfect genre as it carries a lot of historical events and it uses a lot of different plots to kill the parliament. By just looking at this genre it could turn many viewers
away as not many people are interested in SCI-FI.
Representation
Now for this film I found it very hard finding a centre area in which they represent certain aspects, however I feel it shows that revenge is served throughout the world for good and sometimes bad. However this is not always the right decision to make.
Mise en scene
With in this film the mask used on V is very creative as it looks evil but also kind, as it highlights his eyes. The makes used really helps you visual guy Fawkes which makes you more understandable about the historical event. There are hundreds of different camera angles but the camera angle that stood out to me is when you first see V face as it really shocks you as you wonder why he is wearing a mask. In this film there is a lot of props as at the end they show all the dynamite and gun powder on the train full ready to explode.

The film was nominated for Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay, Worst Actor (Mark Wahlberg, along with his performance in Max Payne and Worst Director (M. Night Shyamalan) at the 29th Golden Raspberry Awards; it lost in the former three categories to The Love Guru, while the Worst Director prize went to Uwe Boll.
Audience
The audience for happening was aimed at 15 + which means it is advisable to be over the age to watch this film as it contains violent and disturbing images. The genre of this film is a thriller / Sci-Fi. This film got a total of 5 stars out of a possible 10. My personally opinion of this film is that it is not as good as when you read the plot, this is because it sounds far more intense and very edgy. The comments that were left for his film was rather negative there was one comment that caught my eye by MEL J from SCOTLAND “When I first saw the trailer for 'The Happening', I was quite excited at the prospect of another film by M. Night Shyamalan. After all, I enjoyed all his previous films, save 'Lady in the Lake', and was sure he would deliver another breath-taking blockbuster. Sadly, I was wrong and while the film was not a turkey, it was not of the excellence I had expected.” Another comment that caught my eye was left by a anonymous person “Not brilliant but it was worth a look” as you can see these are negative reviews. These reviews were taken from the IMBD website as they give precious reviews.
Technology
Throughout the film there is an amazing source of technology used as there is different effect used throughout. These effects are used in different ways as they show many people committing suicide which they have to perform these acts with great caution. When editing the film there were a few transitions used to change the scene personally this makes it more intense and nail biting. Within this film there is a deadly mist that is making people do unnatural things, this mean there is different software used to create the effect of the mist and people torturing themselves.
Thriller genre
The Happening is an SCI-FI / DRAMA thriller as it involves a deadly chemical. BY looking at this genre you can be very stereotypical as you would immediately think it is the more upper class people how ever this is being very stereotypical, as from my view I class these types of genres as technological enhanced.
Mise en scene
In this film my favourite camera angle is the clip shown in the photograph beside this text .
I really think this is effective as it shows all the different expressions on the characters faces which really makes you feel the same expression as they do.

The fast and the furious
Institutions
The Fast and the Furious is a 2001 car film starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster. It was directed by Rob Cohen. The Fast and the Furious was the first mainstream film to feature the Asian automotive import scene in North America. This film was released in the United Kingdom in 2001 on the 14th september and was disrtubuted by The Universal studio. The budget of Fast and furious film was $40 million and had a gross venue of $207, 283, 925. when it finally got to the box office the film was an unexpected summer hit. It grossed $40,089,015 on its opening weekend, surpassing the film's $38 million budget. The Fast and the Furious was met with mixed reviews, and received particularly harsh criticism for what some felt was its derivative storyline, which shared many similarities with the 1987 film No Man's Land. The movie spawned video games and three sequels. The movie was filmed under the working-title "Redline" and it was not until months after wrapping that the title was officially set. The title was later used by an unrelated film that drew its inspiration from The Fast and the Furious.
Audience
The audience for Fast and the furious was aimed at 12a this means children age 12 had to accompany by an adult to watch this. Personally I think this movie is aimed at mainly men and boys as there is a lot of fast cars and a lot of action however looking at some reviews on the movie page website a lot of girls have reviewed on the movie which proves that my opinion is wrong. The Fast and furious film got a total of three stars out of a possible 5 stars. When I watched the first 5 minutes of this film I was actually a little bored personally it was not a brilliant movie and was not as good as I expected it to be I was quite disappointed however its only my view I am not interested in fast car ,action movies this is why it did not appeal to me however the way the movie was contrasted was amazing. On the IMDB website there was the following comment – FAST AND THE FURIOUS does not try to be something it is not. Therefore, it surprises me to no end that I will say that FURIOUS is a decent movie. For dialogue, everything is one-lined crazy nonsense. Most characters are ultimately cruel to everyone and each other. Some lame brained antics are done. But it all works out. FAST AND THE FURIOUS is definitely for these times and shows all aspects of the real world and who survives in it through cars and the people that drive them. After losing his job to Dominic Toretto, an untouchable to some, Brian sets out to win his respect by putting his car on the line against the speed demon. Meanwhile, the cops are desperately seeking the perpetrators of several truck hijackings and believe Toretto is the man behind it. With a built of guilt in me, I am proud of saying that FURIOUS was impressive in its execution. The editing was top notch, the camera work well laid out and some surprising acting from a script made of cardboard. There was not much you could do with FURIOUS, but then it starts to feature more on the engines than the cars themselves. It also never forgets the story. FAST AND THE FURIOUS smokes the competition in its genre, if only for the moment.” This shows that the film has impressed viewers by its action and the story line the viewer who left this comment gave it 7 stars out of a possible 10 stars.
Technology
Throughout the film the fast and the furious there was allot of different technologies used to create different scenes for example for the explosions scenes there was a lot of different equipment used to create and keep the actors safe whilst working around fire. There was also different technological equipment used to film as they need to make each camera shot looking steady and natural which is not always easy when you try and keep within a particular budget and making sure you keep up with your cast whilst they are acting. The technology has increased for positive reasons as it has increased the audience knowledge of the film, as it looks more realistic for the audience and more believable .This really draws the viewers in as they start to believe the plot of the story and they put themselves in the characters shoes. When the director is shooting the film he really puts himself into the audience shoes which then tells him whether he is doing the right job or not. As technology has increased this movie has become more assessable as it is now on rent in DVD shops, you can view it over the internet and you can now view it even on your ipods, this means there are more views being processed for this film.
Thriller genre
The Fast and furious film is an ACTION/CRIME thriller as it involves a lot of car chases and explosions. BY looking at this genre you can be very stereotypical as you would immediately think it is for men/boys by just hearing what the genre is. Personally I think that this film would mainly be interesting to the men this is just from a sociological view by being stereotypical.
Representation
To me in this film all the women are very glamorous; however in the real world women are not like that day in day out which to personally is not far on the women as the men will have an image of a women looking like that all the time which will make the women fell very self conscious this is just from my view. Now being stereotypical I just think the director has aimed this film at men only thee is nothing that women can relate to in this movie, however they would relate to some of the male characters as they our very good looking men which would appeal to the women.
Mise en scene
This film is incredible as it shows many different car chases and races; this has been shown with a various different amount of camera angles, The following beside the text shows a car race gone wrong which really makes you sit on the edge of your seat as you wonder what is going to happen next.

Snakes on a Plane is a 2006 American Comedy horror feature film directed by David R. Ellis and starring Samuel L. Jackson. It was released by New Line Cinema on August 18, 2006 in North America. The film was written by David Dalessandro, John Heffernan, and Sheldon Turner. The film follows the events of hundreds of snakes released on a passenger plane in an attempt to kill a trial witness. Released in the United States and United Kingdom on August 18, 2006, the film received generally good reviews with 69% of reviews positive and an average normalized score of 58%, according to the review aggregator websites Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, respectively. Despite the immense Internet buzz, the film's gross revenue did not live up to expectations, earning US$15.25 million in its opening weekend. The film grossed $62 million worldwide before its release on home video on January 2, 2007. The budget for this film was $33,000,000 and had a gross renvue of $62,022,014. Snakes on the plane has a running time of 105 minutes and was distributed by the New line cinema.
Audience
The audience of this movie was aimed at 15 + which means it is advisable to be over the age to watch this film as it contains language, a scene of sexuality and drug use, and intense sequences of terror and violence. The genre of this film is a thriller / Action. This film got a total of6 stars out of a possible 10. My personally opinion of this film is that it is extremely well thought of the plot is very unusual which makes you want to see it even more. The comments that were left for his film was rather negative “what we have here are very bad cgi snakes that neither look nor move like real snakes. Snakes are scary because they appear to be slimy, they crawl they slither. These snakes do nothing of the sort. they glide along like they would in a video game. They are cartoon snakes. i would go as far to say that even someone that had a major phobia against real snakes would not find these ones scary” Looking though the different comments they are mostly negative as the snakes look very unrealistic. Due to the Internet hype surrounding the film, industry analysts estimated the movie's opening box office to be between US$20 million and US$30 million. In its second weekend, the film fell to 6th place with $6.4 million, a 57.6% drop from its opening weekend revenue. However, by the end of its theatrical run, the film generated $62,022,014 worldwide, nearly double the budget. Snakes on a Plane had a DVD release on December 26, 2006 in Region 2; December 28, 2006 in Region 4; and January 2, 2007 in Region 1. The DVD features commentaries, deleted and extended scenes, several featurettes, Cobra Starship's music video, and trailers. The U.S. Blu-ray was released on September 29, 2009
Technology
Throughout the film there is an amazing source of technology used as there is different effect used throughout. These effects are used in different ways as they show many people being hurt, however the best source of technology used would be the snakes here was More than 450 snakes were used for filming to represent thirty different species of snakes some of these ankes where real but some where basic robotic snakes.
Thriller genre
Snakes on the plane is an ACTION / Thrillers .BY looking at this genre you can be very stereotypical as you would immediately think it is the more for men as it involves a lot of people being hurt and injured by accidents involving snakes however this I just my view.
Representation
In this film it seems to me that all the black males are very gangster, to me this immediately makes you think whether all black people are like this which is wrong. All the men seem to act hard and try to impress everyone which is not how black men are.
Mise en scene
On this film it is fairly obvious there is a lot of props as there is over 450 snakes used in the whole of this film which is a lot of creating. In this film my personally favourite camera angle would be when you notice the snake is crawling up the lady on the plane as you really feel for the lady as you can see all her expressions.

General outline of production x
General outline of production
The main characters that we have come up with so far and use includes the following:
A main character will be female as they are used quite a lot in films and are seen as more of a target or more incapable to defend themselves then males are. She will be timid and nervous most of the time. This will be shown by taking high shots looking down on her making her seem small and vulnerable. Yet she thinks high off her self to begin with until the death of Ryan which she then becomes timid and scared. She doesn’t know that she had a sister as her parents died when Jodie was born and her sister was already dead. She is only 16 years old. Her name will be Jodie and the actress will be Chloe Smith who tried for the role and played the character beautifully.
The main characters alter ego who again is female however it is the typical evil character who kills through Jodie. She has never appeared before although she is really Jodie’s sister who died in a fight when she was younger in order to protect her. She now views anyone as a danger to her and will protect her by any means possible. She was 19 when she died. An example of what we mean is Niki Sanders from Heroes who has two split personalities, we are going to use the same idea to show her personality off, by using mirrors which has been in a various amount of films too. The most obvious being a film called mirrors which is a thriller/horror. However we are not sure if this will actually be the female or a type of ghost etc. This characters name will be unknown and will be played by Toni Hall as she chose to be this part.
Another main character or characters will be the female’s friends who don’t know about the split personality; even the female character doesn’t know that she has one. These will vary of female and male at the same age as the female. Some will think that she is crazy when she tells the group about what the demon is etc where as a few believe her, including a male character who later becomes involved with her romantically. This person won’t be in the opening but will be in the middle to end part of the film.
Other characters included in the film will be a male that attacks the main character. He thinks that he can have anyone that crosses his path female wise and is a player. He is a typical man who ends up dying although he isn’t at college as he is 18. A fight will occur which leaves the male character with a scratch on his cheek. They then meet in the alleyway later on and another fight occurs which leaves the male dead this will be in Reepham and we will close the alleyway off so that no one thinks that this event is actually happening. His name will be Ryan and played by David Goff as he can pull of a real life scene with Chloe that looks believable.
Yet another character will be killed by the female. She again is only 16 and has known Jodie all of her life, they are nearly always together although things become rocky as the alter ego begins to take over. This female will be her best friend and will be killed in the girl’s toilets. Her death will be unseen although the kill be will heard from a cell in the toilet. She will have ticked the main character off by talking about the fact that boys love her, as she mentions Ryan the good character will turn into her alter ego to kill her. This characters name will be Chantelle and will be played by Rachael Sarsby.

Costumes, make-up and Props
Costumes
Jodie- very high maintenance – pencil skirt, with dark top, black tights, flat shoe, handbag and with hair straightened .
Ryan-thinks he is hard and every girl wants him – Jeans, blouse, v-neck jumper, and black shoes (smart as he thinks a lot of himself).
Chantelle- like Jodie she is very high maintenance- she will have a similar outfit to Jodie as they like to look much dulled up and over the top.
Jodie’s alter ego – Jodie’s alter ego is very dark and devious she wears very dark clothes, black top, leggings and black leather boots, hair all back combed and messy.
Make-up
Jodie – to begin with Jodie’s make-up is very glamour’s and over the top, but after she has killed ryan her make-up is then very dirty and messy. When Jodie has killed Chantelle she will have blood on her hands to show the audience that she ahs killed Chantelle
Ryan- To begin with Ryan will have no make –up on but as Jodie slaps him there will be a red print, however when Jodie’s alter ego comes out she kills Ryan. There will be blood all over Ryan’s hair and all over the path way that Jodie’s alter ego has killed him.
Chantelle- At the beginning Chantelle make-up is like Jodie’s very glamour’s and over the top. But when Jodie’s alter ego comes out she ends up killing her best friend there will be blood all over the floor and over Chantelle’s head.
Jodie’s alter ego – Jodie’s alter ego will be very dark but also a little glamour’s this will make it seen less tacky and UN real. All her make-up will be black( black eye shadow ,black lipstick ect.)
Props
Here are the props used throughout the film opening –
Bottle of alcohol
Camera
Tri-pod
Dolly
Tape
Bags for Jodie and Chantelle
Various different make-up
Clothing for characters
I also carried this task as i wanted the charaters to show there peronalities through there outfits. There a very little props as we did not want it to look false or not convincing. For the make-up we asked a make artist and a close friend of The actress playing the later ego " Rachael sarsby". Rahcael sarsby was our make-up actest throughout the whole of production.

Jodie then turns and scratches Ryan across the face

Ryan: - No-one gets away from me that easily!!
He grabs her by the shoulder and forces her against the wall.
Jodie: - Leave me alone (screaming and frightened)
Jodie Alter ego then comes and grabs Ryan by the back of his neck and smashes his head against the metal railings. Ryan is killed!!! She then changes back into her innocent self and then realises what has happened.
Jodie: - NO NO PLEASE NO (crying hysterically)
The next day and Jodie walks in to college with her same clothes on as last night looking extremely rough. She walks directly to the toilet and her best mate Chantelle follows.
Chantelle: - Jesus you look rough (looking shocked)

Chantelle: - Oh MY GOD , Jason is so sweet he took me out last night for a meal and then went back to his and let me just tell you it was the most AMAZING sex ever !!!
Jodie: - SHUT UP SHUT UP IT’S ALWAYS ABOUT YOU ISNT IT. (Angry and scared)
Chantelle: - What the hell is wrong with you just because you can’t get no-one what happened to the boy Ryan you liked!!! (Looking annoyed)
Jodie: - I SAID SHUT UP DIDN’T I (Getting really angry)
Chantelle: - What the ……….
Jodie: - SHUT UP!!!!!
Jodie then changes into her alter ego; she grabs Chantelle by the hair and smashes her face against the mirror she has a large cut across her face. She then grabs her hair and pulls her into the toilet. There is a lot of screaming and banging in the loo. As the alter ego exits the loo you see Chantelle lying on the floor dead. It then changes back to Jodie.
Jodie: - NO NO PLEASE NO (crying hysterically) CHANTELLE PLEASE I AM SORRY PLEASED. (Crying look scared and frightened)
She gets up all worried and shaky stumbling over and looks in the mirror and then at her hands realising there is blood on it she quickly puts the tap on and tried scrubbing the blood of and then she looks in the mirror crying.
Jodie: - NO (crying) PLEASE NO WHY ME???????????
Then appears the alter ego, and just smiles back at Jodie.
This script was a task that i decided to take on , i had to write the script quite a few times to get my final result as it sounded to cheesy before. However i spoke to out actors and actressess to make sure they where willing to play the roles so last monday we done a run through with costumes and props to make sure it went smoothly.we found out that it worked extremly well and they Actors/Actresses took on the role very well. However we did have to take out a line as Tow of our main characters kept laughing when the line was said " come on baby".
